BPC Action Applauds the National Labs to Develop Tomorrow’s Technology Leaders Act in Energy and Environment

BPC Action commends Rep. Lujan (D-NM) for the introduction of the Leveraging our National Labs to Develop Tomorrow’s Technology Leaders Act.

DOE’s Lab Embedded Entrepreneurship Program (LEEP) places top entrepreneurial scientists within its national labs to develop and commercialize promising technologies. This program effectively expands access to the experts and resources that exist within the national labs and provides mentorship opportunities for promising energy technology entrepreneurs. This bill will expand the program across the DOE national labs and increase opportunities for budding entrepreneurs.

BPC’s American Energy Innovation Council recently called for an expansion of DOE’s LEEP as a concrete step to improve the commercialization pathways for national lab technologies and to improve the energy innovation ecosystem in the US.

BPC Action looks forward to working with Congress to pass this important bill.
