ICYMI: New BPC Debt Limit Projection: “X Date” Likely in Oct or Nov in Economics and Finance

Good afternoon – As you know, the current federal debt limit suspension ends on March 15th, after which the Treasury Department must use “extraordinary measures” to meet its financial obligations in full and on time. I wanted to make sure you also saw yesterday’s press release from the BPC (below), projecting that these extraordinary measures could be exhausted as early as October – i.e., the “X Date” – at which point the nation would default on its obligations. Congress should address the issue well in advance of this “X Date” range, to minimize the risks that will grow as extraordinary measures are deployed and the X Date draws nearer.
