BPC Action Applauds the Bipartisan, Bicameral 21st Century Entrepreneurship Act  in Economics and Finance

BPC Action commends the bipartisan collaboration of Reps. Dean Phillips (D-MN), French Hill (R-AR), and Sharice Davids (D-KS) for introducing H.R. 7687, the 21st Century Entrepreneurship Act. Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) have authored companion legislation in the Senate (S. 384).

These bipartisan bills aim to expand access to entrepreneurial education for underrepresented students by directing the Small Business Administration (SBA) to develop a curriculum for volunteers in the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) to teach about entrepreneurship and innovation.

To reach female and minority students, English language learners, children with disabilities, and others, the legislation calls on the SBA to develop partnerships with community learning centers that provide academic enrichment activities to students during non-school hours.

Entrepreneurship and innovation are powerful drivers of economic growth. Exposing students to these fields now will help ensure there is a broad and diverse pipeline of business owners and innovators contributing to future American economic competitiveness.

BPC Action looks forward to working with Congress to see this legislation enacted into law.
