BPC Action Commends the House of Representatives for Approving Evidence-Based Policymaking Bill in Government Reform

Washington, D.C. – BPC Action congratulates the House of Representatives for approving the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act of 2017 (HR 4174) by a voice vote with no objection. The legislation is an important step in implementing the bipartisan recommendations of the U.S. Commission on Evidence-Based Policymaking issued in September 2017. This bipartisan bill makes significant progress in achieving the Commission’s vision for routine production of rigorous evidence about government policies and programs to inform policymaking, while protecting privacy and confidentiality. We encourage the Senate to act on the legislation as quickly as possible and continue the bipartisan effort to enact this important legislation into law.

“By its vote today, the House has achieved a critical milestone in the ongoing bipartisan effort to bring a culture of evidence to government and the policymaking process,” said BPC Action Executive Director Michele Stockwell.
