BPC Action Urges Housing Provisions in Tax Package in Housing, Tax

BPC Action is encouraged to see momentum in Congress for several critical tax policy priorities, including full expensing for businesses’ research and development investments and a targeted expansion to the Child Tax Credit that supports low-income families. As Congress continues deliberations, BPC Action urges the inclusion of these two key housing provisions in the final package to tackle unacceptably high housing costs that negatively impact Americans in rural and urban communities across the U.S.:

  • Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act (AHCIA)
  • Neighborhood Homes Investment Act (NHIA)

Housing affordability is a top concern for both Democratic and Republican voters, and both bills would meaningfully address the housing supply shortfall that is at the heart of today’s housing affordability crisis.

BPC Action strongly encourages Congress to finalize a bipartisan tax package and urges members to support the inclusion of these critical housing provisions.
